About Us

Nutriadvice website is run by the Nutritionist, Priya Kannath (BSc, MSc, Dip, MFHT).

Coming from a background and region where natural remedies and medicines have helped people for centuries, Priya was always influenced by the healing properties of plants and food itself and always wanted to develop a career in biological science. After completing her graduation (B.Sc) in Botany (2000) and post-graduation (M.Sc) in Biotechnolgy (2002), she involved in a detailed study about human ageing. Her studies showed how ageing is affected by certain vitamins and minerals. Her work also showed a direct link between ageing and declined level of ascorbic acid in blood serum. During her post-graduation she carried out several studies in pathological microorganisms. Some of the studies she conducted were on yeast and yeast-like organisms and their impact on human health. After her post-graduation, she carried out further studies in Molecular Genetics and Immunology at the Hertfordshire University (2004).

With all these backgrounds and further qualification (2009) in the area of Diet and Nutrition (Dip), Priya started her practice in Reading (2010) primarily concentrating on obesity and women's health issues. She believes in finding the root cause behind the condition and making positive changes to improve the health of her clients. She believes in the principle ' one diet doesn't fit all' and her evidence based nutritional programmes are designed to optimize health through optimum nutrition. Priya typically sees her clients from the Therapy Centre in Reading and she has developed online consultation programmes for the clients who are unable to travel to the clinic. To know more about the consultation, visit: http://www.nutriadvice.co.uk/consultation. Priya is a member of the professional body, the Federation of Holistic Therapists. She regularly updates her knowledge by attending seminars, conferences and reading the latest research. Her blogs and recipes are published in various websites, publications and magazines including Yahoo Lifestyle, Guardian Newspaper and The International Therapist Magazine. Apart from all the educational qualifications in science, she also holds a diploma in Business administration (2012).

In order to further her knowledge in nutrition, she is currently doing a masters degree in Personalised Nutrition, diploma in Nutritional Therapy Practice and also getting trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming to help her clients. With this, she is getting trained to incorporate the Functional Medicine Model into her practice. She is now a student member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists.
