Mince Beef Patties

This one is an ideal summer picnic recipe. Eat it as a salad or as a classic wrap filling !!

150g lean beef mince
1 large brown onion, grated
1 medium carrot, grated
2 celery sticks, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 and 1/2 tbsp whole wheat flour
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbs composed olive oil
12 Baby Plum tomatoes, to serve
Homemade Houmous, to serve
1 Romaine lettuce heart, shredded, to serve

Place the beef mince, onion, garlic, lemon juice, celery, carrot, parsley, salt, chilli flakes and whole wheat flour in a large bowl. Mix with your hands until well combined.

Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion with your hands into a patty.

Place the patties onto a tray lined with- grease proof paper. Cover with cling film and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest. Chilling the patties will help them hold together when cooked. This also allows the flavours in the patties to blend and develop.

Heat olive oil in a large, non-stick frying pan over medium heat and cook the patties on each side until browned and cooked through. Make sure it is well cooked.

Serve with Lettuce, tomatoes and houmous.
